General Meetings
General Meetings shall be held once in every year at such time and place as may be
determined by the Executive Committee but provided that the date be fixed so that not
more fifteen months shall be allowed to elapse between any two Annual General
Meetings.
The above General Meetings shall be called Ordinary Meetings. All other General
Meetings shall be called extraordinary.
The Executive Committee may call an Extraordinary Meeting whenever they deem it
advisable, but the Executive Committee shall call an Extraordinary Meeting on receipt by
the Secretary of a requisition to that effect signed by not less than five members of the
Association, such requisition to specify the Objects of such Extraordinary Meetings.
If the Executive Committee does not proceed to convene a Meeting to be held within
twenty one days from the date of the requisi tion being so received, they may
themselves convene the meeting. All meetings convened in the same manner as nearly
as possible as that in which meetings are to be convened by the Executive Committee.
Fourteen days’ notice at least specifying the place, t he day and the hour of the
meetings and in the case of special business, the general nature of such business, shall
be given in the manner hereinafter mentioned to such as are under the provisions of
this constitution entitled to receive notices from the A ssociation, provided that the
accidental omission to give such notice to or the non recipient of such notice by any
member, shall not invalidate any resolution passed on proceeding had any meeting, and
provided further that in the case of grave emergency, such as the consideration of
legislation introduced at short notice in parliament or new regulations passed by
Parliament or new regulations imposed by Government Departments which are
considered prejudicial to the interest of members o f the Associatio n, or any other
matter which the Executive Committee may consider as urgent an Extraordinary
